Basics on Rimi Sen
Born on 21st September 1981 in Kolkata, Rimi was christened Shubhomitra Sen.
Her school days were spent in Bidya Bharti Girl’s High School. She also trained in Odissi and was part of Aloka Kanungo’s dance group.
Rimi auditioned for a Coke ad when the director noticed her and offered her a role in Hungama (2003).

Rimi Sen’s first movie was as Anjali in Priyadarshan’s Hungama (2005). After working with Hema Malini and Amitabh Bachchan in Baghban (2005), she landed a role in the blockbuster Dhoom (2006) as Abhishek Bachchan’s wife Sweety.
Rimi continued to be seen in some of the biggest hits, mostly of the comedy genre, like Garam Masala (2005), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), Golmaal (2006) and Dhoom 2 (2006). In 2007, she played Mini opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh. Her next movie De Taali (2008) didn’t do well.

Kavya is one of the famous Malayalam Indian actresses. She is 5’4” tall. She was born on 19th September 1984 in a village Kasargod Kerala India. She is from Shaliya community who are traditionally involved in the weaving business. Her parents were P. Madhavan and Shyamala who call Minu. She got married to Nishal Chandra but after five months they had a break up and could not continue the relation and hence she filed for divorce in in 22nd July 2009.
Kavya had completed her schooling in Rajas High School in Nileswaram and done her Kalathilakam in a sub district school Youth Festival. She later studied Humanities under the Open University system.
Kavya started her career as a child artist in 1980 and later acted in movies from 1991. She acted in Sivapuran in 2009 with the co-star Ananth. The movie was in Tamil all related to the black magic. Kavya played the role of Bhadra Ananth’s girl friend. Sadhu Miranndan in 2008 is a movie related to the bank robbery. Kavya never had a pause in her life and hence continued her career with some more movies like Doshth in 2001 and Runway in 2004.
Kavya is a kind hearted woman who had invested lot of her finance to the charitable institutions .She started an institution named Kavya Madhavan Foundation.
Kavya has achieved State Film Award as Best Actress for her performance in Kamal's Perumazhakkalam movie in 2004.

Vidya Balan is a Tamil Iyer born on 1 January 1978 in Palakkad, Kerala. Her father is P.R.Balan who is the vice president of ETC channel while her mother is a homemaker. She has an older sister, Priya.
She studied in Mumbai at St Anthony’s School and later graduated in Sociology from St Xavier’s College, after which she enrolled for M.A from the Mumbai University. She speaks several languages like Tamil, Malayalam, English, Hindi, and Bengali.
Pradeep Sarkar directed her in many ads as well as music videos for singers like Euphoria, Shubha Mudgal, and Pankaj Udhas. She was also part of the initial episodes of Ekta Kapoor’s Hum Paanch.
Balan has been linked with several of her co-stars which she has denied.
Vidya Balan’s initial entry into movies in the South went nowhere. The first Malayalam movie that she signed was with Mohanlal called Chakram that was put on hold and later resumed with a different lead. She was replaced by Trisha Krishnan in Manasellam, a Tamil movie.
It was only in 2003 that she was recognized for her acting skills in a Bengali movie Bhalo Theko, for which she won the Anandalok Best Actress Award for her portrayal of Anandi.

Kismat Konnection in 2008 starring Vidya Balan and Shahid Kapoor failed to do well.
Paa was her only release in 2009 and it was a hit. Balan’s performance as a new age woman was appreciated. She played Amitabh Bachchan’s mother in this movie.
She will be seen as a temptress in Ishqiya. Her other releases include Chenab Gandhi and Mukti. She will be playing the part of Sabrina Lal in No One Killed Jessica.

Sneha Ullal was born on 18th December 1987 in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Her family belong to Mangalapuram in Karnataka. Her father is Nitin Ullal, who held a managerial post in a construction company in Oman.

Prachi Desai was born on 12th September 1988 in Surat, Gujarat, India. Prachi’s father was involved in theater. Her mother is Ameeta Desai.
Part of her school years were spent in Surat and part of it at St Joseph Convent in Panchgani. She studied at the Sinhgad College of Arts, Science & Commerce in Pune.

From Pooh to Pia
Kaho Na Pyaar Hai was supposed to be her debut but she walked out of it and instead starred with Abhishek Bachchan in J.P.Datta’s Refugee in 2000, in which she played Naaz, a Bangladeshi girl who falls in love with Refugee. This won her the Filmfare Best Debut Award. In 2001, she worked with Tusshar Kapoor in Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai which was one of the successes of the year. Yaadein did not do well. Her fiery Kaurwaki act in the epic Asoka with Shahrukh Khan won her a nomination for the Filmfare Best Actress Award. Her fourth film was the multi-starrer Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham in which she played the part of the haughty yet adorable Pooh. The film was her biggest commercial success. The next two years saw her in a few films like Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Khushi, and Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon which ranged from flops to moderate successes.
Just when you thought Pooh was as far as she could go, she started experimenting by portraying different characters in her films that released in 2004 and it paid off. She stepped into the shoes of a sex worker in Chameli with Rahul Bose, earning a Filmfare Special Performance Award. The other critically acclaimed film was Dev with Amitabh Bachchan, in which she played Aaliya, a victim in the communal riots in Gujarat. She won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance. She played the villainous Neha Mehra in Fida. She had three releases in 2005: Bewafa, Kyun Ki, and Dosti: Friends Forever, of which the latter did well in the United Kingdom.
The year 2006 saw her in a thriller 36 China Town and a comedy Chup Chup Ke which were average performers at the box office. It was her role as Dolly in Omkara that clinched the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance. The film was an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello and Dolly was based on Desdemona. She also appeared in an item number in Farhan Akhtar’s Don, which was originally done by Helen.
Imtiaz Ali’s romcom Jab We Met with Shahid Kapoor was a runaway hit in 2007. Her portrayal of the spontaneous and fun-loving Geet was applauded. She won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for that role. In 2008, she came out with Tashan with her new boyfriend Saif Ali Khan and her size zero figure, but that failed to live up to the hype. She lent her voice to Laila in the animation flick Roadside Romeo and was part of Golmaal Returns, a sequel to the comedy hit Golmaal.
In 2009, Kareena was seen in a guest appearance in Luck by Chance and an item number in Billu. After her role as a super model in Kambakkht Ishq she became a style icon though the movie was trashed by critics. Main Aur Mrs Khanna also did not score well. Kurbaan with Saif Ali Khan did a decent job while her role as Pia in 3 Idiots made sure she ended the year on a high note.
Kareena’s fans can look forward to see her in Milenge Milenge in 2010. She will be seen with Shahid Kapoor in the movie. The release was delayed when the couple broke up.

1992 to 1997 Kajol made her debut with Bekhudi in 1992 in which her real life mother Tanuja played reel-life mommy. It was Baazigar in 1993 with Shahrukh Khan that earned her recognition as an actress worth watching out for. Yeh Dillagi, a remake of Sabrina, in which she plays Sapna who is pursued by two brothers, won her a nomination for Filmfare Best Actress Award.
In 1995, she had quite a few releases that were average performers like Taaqat, Hulchul, and Gundaraj. Karan Arjun did well. But it was Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge that broke records and is still running in theaters. The Filmfare Best Actress Award for her role as Simran was well-deserved.
She enjoyed a good run of success in 1997 with Gupt for which she won the Filmfare Best Villain Award, Hamesha that was about re-incarnation, Ishq that was a romantic comedy where she paired off well with Ajay Devgan, and the Tamil movie Minsaara Kanavu that won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award South.
1998 to 2003 The year 1998 was another big year as all her releases turned out to be hits. Pyaar Kiya Tho Darna Kya with Salman Khan; Dushman where she played a double role; Pyaar Tho Hona Hi Tha, a reworked version of the comedy French Kiss with Ajay Devgan; Kuch Kuch Hota Hai that saw her transform from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan and had Aman and Rahul swooning over her. She won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for her performance as Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
She had three releases in 1999 with Dil Kya Kare, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehete Hai, and Hote Hote Pyaar Ho Gaya. In 2000, she played the lead Anna in Raju Chacha that was produced by Ajay Devgan. The movie did not meet the set expectations. Kuch Katti Kuch Meethi had her in a double role and Karan Johar’s Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham, an opulent family drama won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award.
2006 to 2009 Kajol, after a break of three years, made a come back with Fanaa, a story about a blind girl Zooni who falls in love with a terrorist, played by Aamir Khan. It won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award. She made some appearances in song sequences in Kal Ho Na Ho, Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna, Om Shanthi Om, and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. In 2008, she starred in U, Me Aur Hum which was directed and produced by Ajay Devgan and did reasonably well.
2010 Kajol’s next release is My Name Is Khan with Shahrukh Khan and Koochie Koochie Hota Hai which is an animated version of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Another animation movie she is working on is Toonpur Ka Superhero. She is also working on a movie with Kareena Kapoor, a remake of the Hollywood movie, Stepmom.
